About AMCE
The African Medical Centre of Excellence (AMCE) Abuja is a 500-bed specialty hospital offering world-class comprehensive diagnostics and treatment in oncology, cardiovascular, and haematological care, and general medical and surgical services, along with top notch research and education. The AMCE will provide exceptional care to people on the African continent, regardless of their financial means. Developed by the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) in clinical partnership with King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust., AMCE Abuja is the first of five centres planned for development in Africa.
The African Medical Centre of Excellence is being implemented in four phases over five years, starting with a 170-bed specialist hospital that will later be expanded to a 500-bed facility. The centre will have capacity to provide services to more than 200,000 patients in Nigeria and another 150,000 patients from neighbouring West African countries within its first five years of operation.
A range of businesses providing relevant health services will support the Centre and provide commercial services to its patients and staff, creating a healthcare ecosystem sustainably designed to deliver long-term value to the community and region.
This initiative presents a unique opportunity to be involved in the opening chapter of an exciting project that will make decisive improvements to the care and treatment of non-communicable diseases across Nigeria and West Africa. Over time, it is projected that the AMCE will benefit millions of people in Abuja and beyond.
The institution will act as a beacon of healthcare in Africa and will be the employer and healthcare provider of choice across the region. What is sure to make this facility exceptional is its close partnership with King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
If you’re eager to make a real impact in Africa’s healthcare sector, this is your chance to be part of something transformational.
