    Job Purpose

    The Gastrointestinal Surgeon and Endoscopist will lead the diagnosis, surgical treatment, and endoscopic management of complex gastrointestinal diseases. The role encompasses the management of GI conditions affecting the oesophagus, stomach, intestines, colon, liver, pancreas, and biliary system, including colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, and GI bleeding.

    The role holder will combine clinical excellence in surgical and endoscopic procedures with leadership and strategic development of the GI services. This includes participating in multidisciplinary care pathways, promoting best practices, and mentoring future clinical leaders.

    Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities

    Clinical and Surgical Practice

    ·        Perform a wide range of GI surgeries, including minimally invasive, laparoscopic, and open procedures.

    ·        Conduct advanced diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, including colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, and upper GI endoscopy.

    ·        Manage patients across all stages of the surgical journey—preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care.

    ·        Deliver expert consultations on complex GI conditions for internal and referred cases.

    ·        Lead multidisciplinary case reviews, particularly GI cancer pathways.

    Leadership and Team Development

    ·        Lead a multidisciplinary team including surgeons, gastroenterologists, anaesthetists, endoscopy nurses, and allied health professionals.

    ·        Mentor junior doctors, surgical trainees, and medical students in clinical, surgical, and procedural skills.

    ·        Develop protocols and guidelines to support evidence-based GI surgery and endoscopy practices.

    ·        Promote a culture of safety, innovation, and excellence across surgical teams.

    Strategic and Service Development

    ·        Design and implement strategies to expand the scope and efficiency of GI services.

    ·        Collaborate with senior leadership to align surgical services with AMCE’s long-term objectives.

    ·        Improve patient access, streamline referral pathways, and reduce procedural wait times.

    Governance, Quality, and Compliance

    ·        Ensure all surgical and endoscopic practices comply with local and international regulatory standards.

    ·        Develop frameworks for clinical safety and outcome monitoring.

    Organizational Responsibilities

    ·        Report directly to the Clinical Director of General Medical & Surgical Services.

    ·        Represent the GI department in strategic initiatives and hospital-wide projects.

    ·        Participate in national and international conferences and networks to promote AMCE’s services and innovations.

    Qualifications

    ·        Medical degree (MBBS, MD, DO or equivalent) from an accredited institution

    ·        Completion of residency/fellowship in General or Gastrointestinal Surgery

    ·        Board certification or eligibility in General or GI Surgery from a recognized body

    ·        Valid medical license in home country and eligibility for MDCN registration

    ·        Certification in advanced endoscopic techniques

    Experience

    ·        Minimum 5 years’ experience post-consultant appointment in GI surgery.

    Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities

    Clinical Practice

    Qualifications

    Job Purpose

    The Consultant, Interventional Cardiologist will provide the highest standard of clinical care in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of patients with cardiovascular disease, particularly those requiring interventional procedures. The consultant will perform catheter-based interventions including diagnostic right and left heart catheterizations, angioplasty including primary PCI, and structural heart disease procedures such as ASD, VSD closures, TAVI, and Mitral Clip procedures.

    The role holder will also play a central role in strategic development, quality improvement, research, and education within the department.

    Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities

    Clinical Care and Leadership

    ·        Take leadership in the explanation of procedures and diagnostic results with patients.

    The Interventional Radiologist will be responsible for performing minimally invasive image-guided procedures to diagnose and treat various medical conditions. He/ She will provide high-quality patient care through the application of interventional radiology techniques, including but not limited to angiography, biopsy, drainage procedures, and catheter placements. The role holder will be an expert in vascular and non-vascular interventions, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and adherence to international best practices in patient care and safety.

    Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities

    Clinical Procedures & Patient Care

    ·        Perform diagnostic and therapeutic interventional procedures (e.g., angioplasty, embolization, biopsies, drainages).

    ·        Ensure accurate pre-procedure assessments, including patient history and informed consent.

    ·        Monitor patients during and post-procedure for complications.

    ·        Collaborate with surgeons, oncologists, and other specialists for integrated care.

    The Senior Registrar – Oncology (Radiotherapy) will be responsible for the comprehensive assessment, planning, and delivery of precision radiation oncology services under the clinical supervision of the Consultant Radiotherapist (Oncology). The role holder will ensure accurate and timely radiotherapy treatment, contribute to multidisciplinary decision-making, and drive continuous improvement in patient safety, treatment outcomes, and departmental innovation.

    Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities

    Radiotherapy Planning and Treatment Delivery

    ·        Conduct thorough patient assessments, including history taking, physical examination, and interpretation of diagnostic imaging, pathology, and staging information to determine radiotherapy suitability.

    ·        Prescribe, plan, and oversee the delivery of complex radiotherapy regimens, including curative, adjuvant, and palliative intent treatments, under consultant supervision.

    ·        Perform target volume and organ-at-risk contouring using advanced radiotherapy planning systems, ensuring precision and adherence to international contouring guidelines.

    ·        Verify and approve radiotherapy treatment plans in close collaboration with medical physicists and dosimetrists, ensuring dosimetric accuracy and optimal therapeutic ratio.

    ·        Minimum of 3–5 years of post-MBBS clinical experience, with at least 2 years in Radiation Oncology or Clinical Oncology.

    ·        Passed Part 1 or Part 2 of recognized Fellowship/Board exams (WACS, NPMCN, or equivalent).

    ·        Demonstrated competency in the planning and delivery of external beam radiotherapy, including 3D-CRT, IMRT, VMAT, and image-guided radiotherapy (IGRT).

    ·        Proven experience in target volume contouring and the use of modern radiotherapy planning systems.

    ·        Experience with stereotactic radiotherapy (SBRT/SRS), brachytherapy, and paediatric radiotherapy is highly desirable.
